Values
Values are things, whether physical or mental, that are given to us since birth. We are raised in societies through their values. Eventually, we adopt those values and pass those on to the next generations. Why are values so important? Well values for one thing serve as a system of control. They serve as rules for children and invisible restraints for societies. But otherwise, values make up the human being and define who they are. Without values, one can say, one has no identity. Whether good or bad, grand or pathetic, real or artificial, everyone has values. But what do values tell us about ourselves? Human beings have been pondering this question for centuries now and still don't have a definite answer. I have no idea myself, but I believe that the strength of one's values directly represents the strength of that character. Those who are often deemed as "weak" by society have been so because they have little strength in their values. The one's that make true differences in the world around them are the one's that truly believe in their values and strictly abide by them.

Religion
In my world history class, freshmen year, a common topic discussed was religion. Religion obviously is a very controversial topic with no answer at all. Everything is opinionated and constant argument will still result in no progress. It does however, reveal things about people, society and the overall state of mankind in general. Now, here are a few of my thoughts. I neither accept nor reject any religion (so i guess you could say i'm agnostic) because i have no proof that it either exists or doesn't. However, the fact that religion is a man-made concept leads me to believe that it was created as a tool for control. It can be seen throughout history that religion was used to sway the opinion of the public in order to fight a war or recruit soldiers (this is how the concept of jihad was twisted from its original meaning). With religion being a method of control, what is real, what is fake? Did Mohammad actually experience anything, or did he notice a nation in distress that needed to be united through some higher force? These are all thoughts that i've had and some of the facts may be off. This is just a spewing of ideas from my mind. Post comments.

man vs. virus
For those who have already seen the matrix, you've already heard of Agent Smith's virus theory. The Matrix may not have been the first to present it but that's where i've heard it from. This is how the theory goes. "When it came to classifying [man], i've come to realize that you aren't actually mammals. You see, mammals develop a sort of equilibrium with their surroundings, taking only that of which is necessary and balancing with their population with their environment. Humans however go to one area and continue to multiply and deprive the environment of its resources that the only way they can survive is to go to another area and continue to multiply. There is one other organism on this planet that follows this pattern. That organism is a virus." That's more or less what Agent Smith says in the Matrix and reflecting on it now, its actually very true. Humans are overpopulating the lands much like a virus would to a cell. All their actions are destructive to the environment, yet humans try to preserve their environments as much as possible just so they can survive. Imagine. If we actually find a planet to inhabit and begin colonizing, how would we be any different from a virus. Instead of jumping from planet to planet after depriving one of its resources, a virus jumps from cell to cell and eventually human to human. The actions of man are much like the actions of a virus. One, arguably the most advanced organism on the planet, the other, among the simplest. These ideas aren't meant to insult the human race in any way, but instead is meant to get people to draw comparisons in the behavior of human beings. I actually do believe that if we continue to live out life like we are right now, either the earth or man kind is going to be destroyed. This is why, i've published this account on humans vs. viruses.

Track
So track season started a few days ago and i'm dying in pain. But once the initial week and a half is over, track is awesome. I tried out for tennis before track but unfortunately, i got cut :-(. But hey, it's over with and now its time to focus on track. I do quite a few events including: the discus throw, the 100 meter dash, the 4-by-1 relay, and the long jump. Hopefully, I break my pr's (personal records) and become one of the top runners of the team. But as of now. ugh... My muscles are soooo sore. I'll have a few more posts about track as the season progresses, updating about my races and more. See ya.

prom
Hey guys,
This is gonna be my first significant post on my blog. So prom is coming up for our school (I know pretty early), and i'm pretty pumped. A lot of my friends are going with random people that they've never actually known. I lucked out! I'm going with a very good friend of mine, so i'm actually looking forward to prom. The only downside is the immense price. But, whatever. It's going to be pretty fun and it's a nice experience to have. I'll have a new post up retelling prom night! Hope it goes well. Post comments about what u guys think about prom. I'm always interested to know what other people think about prom!
